Lunchtime Arrangements
With the exception of Year 11, all pupils must remain on school property during lunchtime, unless they live within easy walking distance of the school. Parents who wish their children to take lunch at home must seek authorisation in writing from the appropriate Year Group Progress Manager.
The school operates a “cashless catering” cafeteria system. All pupils have an account on the school’s Vericool system, which is credited by parents sending cheques to the school office payable to 'Torfaen County Borough Council', or cash which the pupils can insert into wall-mounted machines. Pupils on free school meals receive a daily credit. Pupils may choose from a hot and cold selection and their account is then debited through biometric identification. Pupils may also bring a packed lunch which can be consumed in the school dining hall.
