The Performing Arts Department’s aim is to allow students the opportunity to express themselves through Drama, Music and Dance. We strive to create a learning environment where all students feel at ease to create, compose, perform and respond with confidence. We value the input of all students.
The Department are strong believers in understanding students varying learning styles. In particular these include visual, auditory or kinaesthetic. All students are made aware of their preferred learning styles and these are taken into account when planning lessons.
In KS3 students are taught according to the National Curriculum. The course is a modular one, with parts of each module designed to fulfil the achievement criteria of the different National Curriculum levels. At KS3 students have a weekly lesson of Drama and Music.
