Scheme of Work Overview

Year 7

In Year 7 pupils will be introduced to the subject and to the six main world religions. They will then go on to study Christianity and Judaism.

Year 8

In Year 8 pupils will look at Islam in depth and further aspects of Christianity.

Year 9

In Year 9 pupils will look at moral issues such as rules and responsibilities, discrimination and the environment.

Key Stage 4

Religious Education is a compulsory subject at KS4 and it is the department’s and the school’s policy that all pupils will be entered for the Religious Studies Short Course GCSE in Year 11.

Pupils may also have the opportunity to choose Religious Studies Full Course as one of their options.
