Exciting news - the school Xmas show will take place at Blaenavon Workman's Hall on Tuesday 18th December. The department are asking pupils for any ideas that they have and auditons will take place in June. If you are interested please see a member of staff from the performing arts department.

February 2012

Six members of 'Only Men Aloud' came to the school on Thursday 2nd February 2012 and took a workshop with approx 50/60 year 9, 10 and 11 boys.
'Only Men Aloud' sang to the boys (which was was outstanding), the boys sang with them and they took part in serveral confidence building/musical games which were run by 'Only Men Aloud' themselves.
The Abersychan boys throughly enjoyed this experience and as a result many pupils are now going to join 'Only Boys Aloud'.

The school would also like to thank 'Only Men Aloud' for coming in again as it was an enjoyable experience that we will never forget.

December 2011

Tuesday 20th December pupils from year 7-10 put on a pantomine version of 'The Grinch'. Primary pupils attended the day rehearsal and the evening show was a sell out. The pupils were outsanding and there was some real talent on show. The department would like to thank everyone for supporting the school show and the pupils for being so dedicated.  

September 2011

Any pupils who would like piano, guitar, brass, singing, drums or woodwind lessons need to see Mrs Jenkins or Mrs Golidng this term so we can arrange this for you. These lessons are a fantastic opportunity for pupils to develop their skills and take place in the week.

There are 93 places for year 10/11 pupils to watch Blood Brothers in London on March 22nd 2011. Places are going fast and if you're interested please see Mrs Jenkins or Mrs Rumble.
