Junior Poet of Pontypool

Abersychan pupils, once again, have excelled in the annual Junior Poet of Pontypool competition. The following pupils, all finalists, were commended for their poetry-writing:

Carys-Ann Browne Y7
Aimee Teale-Mayo Y7
Chloe Bright Y8
Hannah Mallen Y8
Bradley Edwards Y8
Bethan Cooke Y8
Emily Davies Y8

In addition, Chelsea Davies Y8 was awarded 3rd prize, Leila Thomas 2nd prize as well as 1st prize for performance of her poem whilst Jade Parfitt Y9 was presented with a special award for her poem.

Mr Conway, Mrs Matthews and Mrs Maloney felt proud to attend the the prestigious presentation evening with the pupils and their guests on Thursday 7th July 2011 at Pontypool Museum.
