Visit to Paris 7th-10th July 2011.
72 Pupils from years 7-10 recently spent an exciting weekend in Paris, France.
On the Friday we visited the beautiful city of Paris. Our tour included visits to the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, the Champs -Elysées, Notre Dame, Opéra, the Louvre and Place de la Concorde. The day was finished with a meal at an Italian restaurant close to the hotel.
On the Saturday we visited the popular Disneyland park where pupils spent the day enjoying the rides in the five magical lands. Most popular amongst the park's thrill rides was the themed roller coaster ‘Space Mountain-Mission2’, which runs in the park’s Discoveryland. The ‘It’s a Small World’ ride in Fantasyland allowed many pupils to enjoy a joyful musical tour of the world watching dolls of all nations sing and dance to the famous It's a Small World medley. The thrilling ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ ride in Adventureland was also popular with many pupils. Many pupils queued to have their photographs taken with the Disney characters and the famous Disney Parade was watched and enjoyed by many. For many it was the first visit to Paris and for some the first visit to Disneyland. Lots of goodies were bought in the shops including soft toys, rucksacks, lollipops and ornaments.
As always, all pupils had a wonderful time along with the Abersychan staff. Mrs Wilkshire and accompanying staff would like to thank all pupils for coming on the trip and making it such an enjoyable one. Hopefully there will be many more trips to Paris for them to enjoy in the future.
