Abersychan pupils meet the First Minister
Following their invitation to the official opening of the Shared Resources Centre at Victoria House, Blaenavon on February 14th 2011, four Abersychan pupils were fortunate to meet the Rt Hon Carwyn Jones, First Minister for Wales.
The four pupils Casey Thomas (Head Boy), Harriet Howells (Head Girl), Sam Watkins and Leila Thomas (both Year 8) together with Seren Matthews (Head Girl) and Morgan Saunders (Head Boy) from St Peter’s CW Primary School spent several minutes discussing the importance of technology in the modern education system. The pupils explained how the various facilities in the Abersychan Learning Plaza including the laptop suites, Microsoft surfaces, the video-conferencing centre and the digital TV studio enhanced the teaching and learning in the school. Both Seren and Morgan will be joining Abersychan in September 2011 and are looking forward to experiencing the state-of-the art technology at Abersychan.
The Shared Resources Centre will play a pivotal role in the development of digital learning across Torfaen and neighbouring authorities.
